Atlanta Road Course

Just some bad luck at the road course on saturday ended up making the day a bad one. Started the day okay but had a engine problem in the practice/ qualifying session. The crank trigger was messed up and we had to replace it. We just got it done in time for the a- main and I ended up finishing in second in it, we where pretty suprised considering that just a few minutes ago the motor wouldn’t hardly run. I started 4th in the a- main, finished second. I started 2nd in the feature and after the green flag I got the lead going into turn one. I lead the whole race but on the last lap caught some lapped cars and held me up going on to pit road. The second place car got under me going into the last turn and I crossed him over, I just barely had my left front under his left rear coming out of four and we where three wide with a lapped car. I was in the grass and being three wide there was not alot of room and he chopped me off a little and i slipped up the track causing me to turn him. I crossed the line first but the people in the tower decided to D Q me whitch put me finishing last. I want tp thank Aaron’s, Abf, Racing Electronics, Oakley, Bell, and my mom and dad for giving me this opritunity to race. Unfourtunantly the day did not end well but had the fastest car and can’t wait till we head to Lanier next week.

Lanier

Not a very good week over at Lanier. Started on saturday and only got the heat races done before the rain caught up to us and postponed the features until sunday.  I drew awful and started last in the second heat race.  I made my way up to fourth but just not enough time to make it past the third position.  That put me starting in the number eight spot for the feature.  We were the first ones on the track on sunday and it was wet and it was seeping.  I was battling for 4th when the caution came out.  I chose to go to the outside and that put my on the second row outside.  When we came back around after we took the green flag the 1 turned me coming out of four.  It spun around and I just about had it going again and about that time got nailed in the left front ripping the whole left front off and sliding to the inside wall.  It was a awful day. I was battling for second when it happened and it defiantly hurt me bad in points. Thanks to my mom and dad,  pool room,  abf,  racing electronics, oakley,  most of all aaron’s for giving my the chance to do what I love to do most.

Cordele

The first race back since the christmas break we had was held down in Cordele. We started the day off in practice not very well just trying to get back into the rhythm. We ended up getting two pratcice sessions so we had another one so we can a little bit more time. I drew a one so I was first in the first heat race. The heat race went good and I ended up holding off the 14 for the win. I started first on the inside with the 5 on the outside. It was a good race but in the begining I got shuffled back and by the last caution I was in fourth and went to the outside on the choose rule. I got back in line the lap after we took the green flag and was in second chasing down the leader. My car was awesome there at the end and I finally got under the leader on the last lap and we raced back to the checkered and he kept me pinched and I got loose coming out of four and he just beat me by inches there at the line. I had a great time and I am looking foward to going back for the final race down there. I want to thank my mom, dad, aaron’s racing electronics, bell helmets, oakley, the pool room and abf for giving me the chance to race.

ATL Road Course

It was my first race in a legend at the road course in atlanta. We started off the afternoon very well. We did the european style qualifying which means you qualify in practice or they take your fastest time from practice. I qualifyed on the pole which put me first for the a-main. It was a pretty good a-main and went very well finishing 3rd overall and 1st in my class. I was starting 3rd in the feature and on the 2nd lap i went down into the 90 degree turn and locked up the brakes and came back on the track in last. I drove my way back to 2nd in my class and 6th overall. It was an unhappy day but overall did not do that bad. I had an awesome car and can not wait to go back to the road course. Thanks to my sponsers, Aaron’s, Abf, Oakley, Racing Electronics, the pool room, and my mom and dad for giving me the oppritunity to race.

Cordele

A great weekend for the most part for the BEDDT. In Cordele Georgia however I started the night by drawing a 13 to put me 3rd in the heat race number one. In practice, we where not to good when we first unloaded but we worked our way around the problems and ended up winning the heat rcace which put me on the pole for the feature. As soon as we took the green flag it was a close and fun race. The 14 machine and I raceed side by side and bumper to bumper the whole race. I held him off for my first victory at the Watermelon Capital Speedway in the legend car. I had a great time and am looking foward to going back. I want to the Aaron’s, Abf, Racing Electronics, Oakley, Pool Room, and my mom and dad for making this possible and for giving me the opritunity to go out and do the one thing I love to do most!

AMS

We had a pretty good night at the AMS. I did not draw good, drawing a 39 out of 40 which put me last in my heat race. It was an 8 lap heat race and I made my way to 3rd which started me third in the feature. We took the green flag and the kid on the outside pole got in front of me because I did not have a good start and spun the tires. Wegot a couple laps into the race and the two leaders got side by side and the 41 turned the 5 and I went tothe outside which was a bad move on my part and the 5 almost backed into me so I had to slow down a bunch. I thought that they would call a caution which they shoukd have but they did not and the leader got away from me. He was about a straightaway in front of me with about 15 laps to go. I had just got to him on the last lap but did not have enough time to do anything with him. I ended up in 2nd but there is still many races to go in this series. I had fun and want to thank Aaron’s, Pool Room, Oakley, ABf, Bell helmets, Racing Electronics, and my mom and dad for giving me this opretunity to race and I am looking foward to going back.

Nationals

Out in Elko, MN was where the 2008 legend car nationals. We started the weekend on Friday with a day of practice in preparation for the heat races on Friday and the 50 lap feature on saturday night. On Friday I was top ten in practice all day and at the end I was the 6th quickest in the semi-pro devision. We went on to friday which was qualifying and the heat races. I was 3rd quickest on qualifying which put me last in the 6th heat race, I was put to the back because the fastest qualifier in each heat race was put to the back. I had a good heat race and ended up 2nd, and the car was still rolling, so that put me starting 3rd in the feature on Saturday night. My car had been just a tick loose all weekend and we figured the track would tighten up for the feature, so we did not touch the car which was a mistake that we will learn from. I started out the feature running awesome and was faster than both of the cars in front of me, but after we got going and after a couple of cautions my car started to go away, tarted to get a good bit loose. Igot hung on the outside and just could not get down until  i had already laos a few spots. I fell back to 6th and battling a loose race car I came home with a 6th place finish at my first national event. I had a heck of alot of fun and I want to thank my mom and dad and ABF, Aaron’s,Racing Electronics, and the Pool Room for giving me the chance to go out there, and I hope to go to the nationals again next year.

Lanier

Back at Lanier for their last race until November when we start the winter series. I drew a 16 or so but that put me 2nd in the heat race. We took the green flag and I dropped in line behind the leader and we pulled away from the rest of the guys. My car was a little loose with not a lot of grip and we think my tires where going away. I ened up starting 2nd in the feature and on the start the person on the inside pole broke his rear end and he came up the track and hit me right on the start. They put me back on the poe because we had not completed a lap. I was just hoping that my car was not hurt because that hit to the side was a pretty good lick.  It turned out that the car was just fine and the adjustments we made from the heat race worked out good and I led every lap to win my 3rd semi-pro legend car race. I had a great time and can not wait until the winter series starts to go back over there. I want to thank ABF, Aarons, Pool Room, Racing Electronics, The Bill Elliott Driver Development Team, and my mom and dad for giving me the chance to race.

Atlanta

At the Atlanta Motor Speedway, I started the night by drawing a 20, not my best draw but better than my usual. In practice I was fast and I thought the car handled awesome but I just could not get a really clean lap without running into traffic. I started outside pole in the heat race and was faster than the leader the whole race, just could not get around him. There was about  3 to go and the leader was leaking oil out of the right front. He got loose going into 3 and I slipped under him to win the heat race. I started on the pole in the feature. From the drop of the green flag my car was awesome and I lead every lap to bring home my second win in the semi-pro devision in the legend cars. I had a ton of fun and hate that we do not race at AMS every week. I want to thank ABF, Pool Room, Aarons, Racing Electronics, The Bill Elliott Driver Development Team, and my mom and dad for giving me the chance to o and race and have this much fun.

Lanier

This week at Lanier started out by drawing a 67, once again , one of my awful draws.I started last in the heat race and just passed a couple of cars to get into the 4th spot. I started the race on the inside fourth row. In the beginning of the race, my car was not great and we got strung out and on lap 11 the guy in front of me spun out coming out of four and that was the first caution of many to come up. I went to the outside under caution and it put me third row outside. We took the green and going into one I got to the inside and got around someone else which out me into the 4th spot. We ha another caution and I went to the outside again and that put me second row outside. As soon as we took the green we had about three to go and I fought my way on the outside to keep the fifth spot but due to two disqualifications I ended up third. Not a bad night and I had fun looking forward to going back next week to the Georgia State Championship.
