An awesome weekend for the bill elliott driver development team. Started out on friday in practice and the car was pretty good. We made some changes to the car however we decided to go back to what we started the day with to start our hour of practice on Sat. Got going on Sat. and had the car handleing well and balanced good at the end of practice. Qualified 2nd and ran second for the entire race and got by the leader with 3 laps to go. Ended up coming home with our first win for the Aaron’s lucky dog machine. It was an awesome race and I am very exited to head to Hickory this weekend with the ASA Southeast Asphault Tour. I want to thank mom and dad, ricky and all the guyes, Aaron’s, scroth belts, butler seats, ford for giving us an awesome motor, wix, and all of our contengincie sponsors for giving me this awesome chance to race.
Well we got rained out at lanier but we still got practice in. I was very happy with the car in practice and I am looking forward to going back this Saturday for the rain date. I am exited to take the Aaron’s dream machine back to Lanier but am disappointed that we can’t make it to cordele.
We started on Friday with practice. We struggled quite a but we never did put any new tires on. We put the new tires on Sat hoping to improve some. There towards the end f practice we made a couple good changes to the car and we were pretty happy going into qualifying but still not were we wanted the car to be. I ended up qualifying 5th and we started the race pretty happy with what the car would be like. I started and with in the first five laps the car seemed like it was going to be pretty good but there as I went the car got super tight and we went the first run which was sixty laps with out doing anything. When the caution came out we elected to come down pit road and try to improve the Aaron’s dream machine. We made a change and realized that the right front tire had ben going flat. We put a right front on it and I got into the wall on one of the restarts after that. We went down hill from there but I ended coming in the ninth spot. We felt like the car was going to be good but we just do not know because of the tire and then I got into the wall. I am looking forward to going back and to see what we really had for the Dillon Motor Speedway. I want to thank my mom and dad, Aaron’s, bell, oakely, butler, gary hess and all of our other product sponsors for giving me this chance.
We ened up with a great weekend in South Carolina and Alabama. We started in south carolina we were pretty good in practice and qualified 4th. They inverted 5 so I started outside pole. On the start I got shuffles back some but made my way to 3rd by tghe end of the race. I started Sat. in practice, we were about 3rd or fourth quickest b ut towards the end I felt really good about the changes we made. I qualified fourth and the car was awesome in the race. I was faster than the leader around lap 70 and we were just going to ride behind him and go for it at the end. We got a ton of stuff on the grill and the motor got to running really hot. I ended up 2nd but we had a solid weekend. I want to thank Mom and Dad, Aaron’s, Bell, Oakley, and all of our product sponsers for giving me this chance and I am looking foward to going to Dillon, SC next weekend.
Itwas a good weekend down at the Cordele motorsports park and was not to bad in practice and qualified 4th and on lap eight the cars in th front checked up and I got on the brakes and the car behind me ran up under me spinning me out but did not get into the wall. I had made my way into the 4th spot chasing down 3rd and had a pretty good car when I caught a lapped car and I slowed down and got spun out and I made my way back to finish in the 7th spot but should have finished around the 3rd or 4th spot. I want to thank mom and dad, Aaron’s, bell, oakley, machanix wear, hedman husler headers, circle racing wheels and all of our product sponcers for giving me the chance to do what i love to do most.
It was an awesome weekend in south GA in the Aaron’s Dream Machine. We started the day with practice for my first time in the late model at a race. I was 8th quickest in practice and qualified 6th but the invert was 8 so that picked me up 3 spots to put me starting in the third spot. It was a 100 lap race and there were just a few cautions. In the beginning of the race I fell back to seventh and we raced in that order for more than half of the race. With about 40 to go I got the 6th place car. It was a very hard track to pass and it was very hard to get under someone to make a pass. I ended up with a solid 6th place finish and we were all pleased for being my first race and the second time in the car. I want to thank my mom and dad, all the guys on the team, Aaron’s, Circle racing wheels, bell helmets, butler seats, mechanix wear, racing electronics, oakley, mobil 1, quarter master, swift springs, arp bodies, wix, bowman, bosch, vp racing fuels, and the dawsonville pool room for helping me and giving me this awesome chance to do an amazing sport. We are headed to cordele next week and I am looking forward to heading down there for race number two in the late model.
A great weekend to wrap up the GA state championship winter series. It was cup weekend so all we did was draw and race. I drew a 10 and that put me on the pole. We got 5 laps of practice and the car was terrible, just did not have any grip. We tightened the car up a little bit before the race. Going into one there was a wreck starting right behind me. I am not really sure what happened but just about all the cars were fine and kept on racing. The car in the race was a ton better in the feature and I led every lap to grab the final race of the winter series and got the championship. I want to thank mom and dad, Aaron’s, Oakley, Racing Electronics, Bell, Circle Wheels, Pool Room, Vp Racing, and everybody that helped on the car to grab that championship. I am super exited for the next race and to focus on the late model.
An awesome weekend began on friday at the AMS. We started the day drawing a 26 for the first race and a 1 for the second. This week was a double feature. Started 3rd in the second heat race and ended up in the third spot. I started 6th in the feature and on the start the guy beneath me spun the tires and I got to get to the bottom going into one. I passed a few cars and me and the 7 were out front and I got around him on the front straight away. I led the rest of the race and the car was awesome going into the second race just a few minutes away. I started on the pole for this one and because it was a double feature we did not have any heat races. I ended up leading the whole race and went home on Saturday with couple wins. Sunday came along going to Lanier. We started by drawing a 32 and started in the middle of the pack and made my way to the lead but the rear end gear was burning up and it did not have much pull of the corner. The 1st and 2nd place finishers both got sent to the back because there left front ride heights were to low. I started outside pole for the feature with the 4 car on the pole. I raced him side by side for a lap or to and then got to the bottom going off into one. I got under him going out of two and took the lead coming onto the front stretch. I led the rest of the race and the car was unbelievably awesome. I want to thank everybody who worked to get this car ready to race this week, Aaron’s, Oakley, Racing Electronics, Pool Room, Bell Helmets, and my mom and dad for letting/giving me this chance to race.
The first time at the orlando speed-world for the winter nationals. It was a week show starting monday and going through saturday. Monday was just practice and from the time we rolled off the trailer the car was awesome. Monday went very well and we where looking forward to going into tuesday, the first day of racing. On tuesday the car was still great but the track was difficult to pass on. Ended up about mid pack because i drew a 97 out of 100. Tuesday went well to start off with but got into a accident coming out of turn 2. The car was okay and we got it ready for the next day. Wednesday went good drew a 5 and ran very well in the race, about half way there was a guy that was behind me and i was running 2nd, i miss judged him in my mirror and just let him get under me,I fell back to fourth and got back to third with the remainder of the race. Friday rolled around and today they decided to do qualifying. I was the fastest out of all the divisions with a fast time of 15.64 and drew a 7 so they inverted 7 which out me starting 7th. Something was going wrong with the car, the lower ball joint came out sending me into the turn 3 wall. It totaled the car having to get out the back up out for saturday. Ended up running 2nd on saturday in the 30 lap feature. Just want to thank Aaron’s, Abf, circle racing wheels, oakley, racing electronics, bell helmets, and my mom and dad for giving me the chance to go out and run.
A great day at the lanier national speedway. Started the day pretty good in practice just a little loose getting into the corner. Someone dumped a bunch of oil on the track in the first session and it changed the track quite a bit. I drew a 16 which put me in the second spot in the first heat race. It was a fun heat race with some good clean racing and ended up winning it. I started on the pole for the feature. We tightened the car up and it was awesome for the feature. I led the whole race with the 4 behind me and we where coming up on a lapped car. It was like dejavu from last week except the tower told him that we where coming. I ended up winning and had a ton of fun. I can’t wait for this week headed down to orlando for the winter nationals. I want to thank my mom and dad, Aaron’s, Oakley, Abf, racing electronics, circle racing wheels, and bell helmets for giving me this chance to race.
